Norris Cunningham
Shareholder
Mr. Cunningham leads the firm’s Health Care Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in health-care dispute resolution including trial practice, regulatory advocacy, commercial litigation and arbitration. Mr. Cunningham has been admitted pro hac vice in fifteen states. He has tried and arbitrated numerous long-term care, medical malpractice, and commercial cases throughout the nation. Mr. Cunningham has extensive experience representing health care providers before governmental agencies including the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services as well as state regulatory agencies in sixteen states. He has provided legal advice and oversight on claims management and claims handling processes for large, self-insured health care providers. He is an arbitrator certified by the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Cunningham currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and serves as Chair of its Committee on Diversity, he is the Past Chair of the Long Term Care Subcommittee, Health Section. He is the Past Chair of the Indiana State Bar Association Diversity Committee. Mr. Cunningham is a certified arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Cunningham has made more than fifty national and regional presentations on health care-related topics and trial practice for many organizations, including the Defense Research Institute, the National Business Institute, the American Conference Institute, the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care; the Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics Conference. Mr. Cunningham is co-author of the 2007 book, Inside The Minds: Healthcare Law Client Strategies, published by Aspatore Books.
