James W. Brauer

Born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois, James attended Indiana University in Bloomington where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He received his law degree at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University in 1975. While attending law school, James clerked at the Indianapolis law firm of Stewart & Irwin, P.C. He practiced law at Stewart & Irwin from 1976 — 2013. In 2013 he relocated his practice to Katz Korin Cunningham.
The primary focus of his practice has been medical malpractice defense. He has represented physicians, dentists and their groups throughout the state of Indiana.
James has successfully tried more than 50 jury trials primarily in central Indiana but also in a number of counties in the northern and southern parts of Indiana.

Civic Engagement / Volunteerism
James gladly donates his services by doing pro bono work for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic and the Indiana Lawyers for Service Members. He was also very active with the Carmel Dad’s Club, coaching and officiating basketball.
In his free time, James enjoys spending time with his growing family. He also enjoys traveling and almost any sporting event.
