Katz Korin Cunningham Attorneys Bitner and Zimmerman to Present at National Conference

Doug Bitner, a partner with Katz Korin Cunningham, along with associate, Jarod Zimmerman will present at the National Conference on Correctional Health Care in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The presenting organization, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) sets the standards on correctional health care, which are considered the benchmark for the industry. Entitled “Judicial Intervention” Bitner and Zimmerman’s session will review the various stages of a lawsuit — specifically medical care in a correctional setting — and the involvement of the court in the direction of said medical care during various stages of litigation.

From the initiation of the lawsuit through interrogatories and deposition, attorneys Bitner and Zimmerman will discuss the realities of judicial involvement in health care in the prison system. This is the third consecutive year that Doug Bitner has presented at the National Conference on Correctional Health Care, the largest of its kind. Doug was awarded his J.D. with honors from the Southern Illinois University School of Law. Jarod Zimmerman is a graduate of the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University.
